چکیده

Practical anonymous credential systems are generally built around sigma-protocol ZK proofs. This requires that credentials be based on specially formed signatures. Here we ask whether we can instead use a standard (say, RSA, or (EC)DSA) signature that includes formatting and hashing messages, as a credential, and still provide privacy. Existing techniques do not provide efficient solutions for proving knowledge of such a signature: On the one hand, ZK proofs based on garbled circuits (Jawurek et al. 2013) give efficient proofs for checking formatting of messages and evaluating hash functions. On the other hand they are expensive for checking algebraic relations such as RSA or discrete-log, which can be done efficiently with sigma protocols. We design new constructions obtaining the best of both worlds: combining the efficiency of the garbled circuit approach for non-algebraic statements and that of sigma protocols for algebraic ones. We then discuss how to use these as buildingblocks to construct privacy-preserving credential systems based on standard RSA and (EC)DSA signatures. Other applications of our techniques include anonymous credentials with more complex policies, the ability to efficiently switch between commitments (and signatures) in different groups, and secure two-party computation on committed/signed inputs.

Efficient Designated-Verifier Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Proofs of Knowledge

We propose a framework for constructing efficient designated-verifier non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs (DVNIZK) for a wide class of algebraic languages over abelian groups, under standard assumptions. The proofs obtained via our framework are proofs of knowledge, enjoy statistical, and unbounded soundness (the soundness holds even when the prover receives arbitrary feedbacks on previous pr...

Efficient Zero-Knowledge Proofs of Non-Algebraic Statements with Sublinear Amortized Cost

We describe a zero-knowledge proof system in which a prover holds a large dataset M and can repeatedly prove NP relations about that dataset. That is, for any (public) relation R and x, the prover can prove that ∃w : R(M,x,w) = 1. After an initial setup phase (which depends only on M), each proof requires only a constant number of rounds and has communication/computation cost proportional to th...

Round-Optimal Privacy-Preserving Protocols with Smooth Projective Hash Functions

In 2008, Groth and Sahai proposed a powerful suite of techniques for constructing non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs in bilinear groups. Their proof systems have found numerous applications, including group signature schemes, anonymous voting, and anonymous credentials. In this paper, we demonstrate that the notion of smooth projective hash functions can be useful to design round-optimal pri...

Zero-Knowledge Arguments for Lattice-Based PRFs and Applications to E-Cash

Beyond their security guarantees under well-studied assumptions, algebraic pseudo-random functions are motivated by their compatibility with efficient zero-knowledge proof systems, which is useful in a number of privacy applications like digital cash. We consider the problem of proving the correct evaluation of lattice-based PRFs based on the Learning-With-Rounding (LWR) problem introduced by B...

C∅C∅: A Framework for Building Composable Zero-Knowledge Proofs

Non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs are a powerful cryptographic primitive used in privacypreserving protocols. We design and build C∅C∅, the first system enabling developers to build efficient, composable, non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs for generic, user-defined statements. C∅C∅ extends state-of-the-art SNARK constructions by applying known strengthening transformations to yield UC-co...
